The interaction of investment protection, human rights, and international arbitration is complex. Theories on the interaction of these legal regimes are a helpful starting point. At the same time, general explanatory approaches reach their limits as soon as it comes to solving concrete questions. As part of the series Schriften zur Europäischen Integration und Internationalen Wirtschaftsordnung, the new book "Investment Protection, Human Rights, and International Arbitration in Extraordinary Times" has now been published. In twelve chapters, the volume co-edited by Rainer Hofmann, Stephan Schill, Christian J. Tams, and Julian Scheu analyses different thematic interactions between investment law and human rights in order to develop a more context-specific understanding. The e-book can be found here.

The new volume in the IILCC publication series “Creation and Implementation of a Multilateral Investment Court” builds on current discussions at UNCITRAL Working Group III and explores the possibility of creating a Multilateral Investment Court (MIC). Each chapter highlights a key element of the MIC proposal, addresses the main legal issues, and places them in a broader analytical context. The print-publication can be found here, the e-book is available here. For more information on the associated research project, click here.
